Studio Polices

Welcome to private piano lessons! I'm thrilled you chose to enroll yourself or your child with me. In order to provide the most effective and creative teaching environment for you or your child I've laid out some basic policies below of what to expect when taking lessons (in other words, it's all the boring but necessary stuff that needs to be clearly communicated beforehand so we're all on the same page!):

Tuition:

I offer 30-minute weekly private lessons at the rate of $35/lesson paid monthly via your My Music Staff account, Paypal or Venmo. The weekly rate covers not only the musical instruction but also the reservation of your time slot. Because of this, you are billed for your lesson slot for every week the teacher is available regardless of whether or not the student will be able to attend the lesson.

Location:

Students local to Yuma, AZ come to my home for their weekly lesson. I'm located in NW Yuma near Ave C and 16th St. I'm happy to offer virtual lessons for those not local to Yuma!

Missed Lessons:

Life happens and a missed lesson here or there is simply unavoidable. However I am unable to reschedule, offer makeup lessons, or issue refunds for missed lessons. If a student misses a lesson they will simply lose the benefit of that lesson. In light of that unfortunate fact I offer virtual lessons when necessary. If a child is sick but has energy for a lesson I will offer a virtual lesson via FaceTime, Skype or FB Messenger video. Please don't come for in person lessons when contagious! Virtual lessons are a great option in this case.

Student Expectations:

Regular practice is imperative! Each student is expected to commit to no less than 4 weekly 20 minute practice times (for beginners - more advanced students will be expected to commit more time).

Participation in seasonal recitals is optional.

Materials & Equipment

It is expected that each student have a suitable instrument at home on which to practice.

Your tuition covers the cost of books.

Thank you for considering me as your teacher! I appreciate the commitment of all my students and parents to help this be a fun, creative and worthwhile learning experience!
