Jessica Beltran Piano, LLC Studio Policies
Welcome to Jessica Beltran Piano Studio! I am so excited to have you as part of this musical journey. Learning piano is a rewarding experience, and I am committed to providing a positive and structured environment for all students. These policies are in place to ensure clear expectations for both students and parents, so we can focus on making great music together!
1. Tuition & Payment
- Commitment to music lessons is made at the beginning of each semester: Fall and Spring. By registering for the next semester, you agree to make either one lump sum payment for the semester or timely monthly tuition payments throughout the entire semester.
- The Fall semester runs from August through December. The Spring semester runs from January through May. Each semester includes 16 weeks of lessons.
- A semester enrollment fee of $75 is due by May 31st for students enrolling in the Fall semester and November 31st for the Spring semester.
- Tuition may be paid in full at the beginning of the semester with a 5% discount or in monthly installments.
- Monthly payments are due on the 1st of each month beginning in August.
- Payments can be made with a debit/credit card via your invoice.
- Tuition reserves a student’s weekly lesson time whether the student is able to attend their lesson or not and is non-refundable.
Pricing:
Half hour lessons: $750/semester. Paid in full w/ 5% discount - $712.50. Paid monthly - $150/month.
One hour lessons: $1,150/semester. Paid in full w/ 5% discount - $1,092.50. Paid monthly - $230.
Group lessons: $650/semester. Paid in full w/ 5% discount - $617.50. Paid monthly - $130.
2. Attendance & Missed Lessons
- Tuition secures a student’s weekly lesson time, whether they are able to attend or not.
- Missed lessons will not be refunded or credited.
- If a student provides at least 48-hour notice, a makeup lesson may be scheduled at the instructor’s discretion, subject to availability.
- If a student is sick or unable to drive to their lesson, a virtual lesson over Zoom may be scheduled in place of their regular in-person lesson.
- In cases of teacher absence or cancellation, a makeup lesson will be arranged. If a makeup lesson cannot be arranged after a teacher cancels, that week will be used as a flex week (discussed under number 3. "Studio Calendar & Holidays - Fall 2025" section).
3. Studio Calendar & Holidays - Fall 2025
- The studio operates on a semester schedule, with 18 lessons scheduled per semester, with specific dates provided at the beginning of each term.
- Because semester tuition is based on 16 lessons per semester, the 18 scheduled lessons allow for teachers to have two flex weeks to use for time off/sickness as necessary. If, near the end of the semester, no flex weeks have been used by teachers, the last two weeks of lessons will be taken as flex weeks.
- The Fall semester runs from August to December, and the Spring semester runs from January to May.
- Fall semester lessons begin the week of August 4th.
- Fall break: October 13th-17th (no lessons).
- Thanksgiving break: November 24th-28th (no lessons).
- Winter break: December 22nd - January 2nd (no lessons).
- Major holidays and scheduled breaks are communicated in advance and are already accounted for in the semester tuition cost
4. Performance Opportunities
- Studio Class: All students are encouraged to attend studio class - an opportunity for students to perform a piece of their choosing, receive and offer feedback and meet other students in an informal, casual setting. Studio classes are one hour long and will take place on Thursday, September 18th and Thursday, November 13th. There is no additional charge to participate in studio class. As such, these are an excellent opportunity to take advantage of if your student has had to miss lessons but would like additional instruction time.
- Seasonal recitals: these are a highlight of the studio calendar! All students are encouraged (but not required) to participate in our seasonal recitals. Participating students prepare a piece of music under the instruction of their teacher and perform that piece the evening of the recital. Seasonal recitals are a formal event, with many friends and family in attendance. The charge for participation is $35.
5. Expectations & Practice
- Students are expected to practice regularly and complete assignments given during lessons.
- Parents should encourage and support consistent practice habits at home.
- Students should arrive on time with their books and materials. Please be mindful of the student scheduled before and after you by arriving as close to your lesson time as possible and leaving promptly once finished.
- Siblings and parents are welcome to accompany the student during lessons.
6. Discontinuation Policy
- Registering for the semester is a commitment to the entire semester.
- If a student chooses to discontinue lessons, they are still responsible for paying the remaining tuition for the semester.
By enrolling in lessons, students and parents acknowledge and agree to abide by these policies.
